Introduction: Primary Health Care (PHC) represents the entry point to the health system and is essential for promoting collective health and strengthening the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Practical experiences at this level of care foster critical and humanized training for medical students. Objective: To promote the integration of medical academics into the daily routine of PHC through practical activities in a Basic Health Unit, developing technical, human, and educational competencies. Another objective was to produce educational materials to promote influenza vaccination, responding to a demand identified by the unit. Experience report: This report is based on weekly experiences of academics over four months in the course Collective Health Practices II, involving observation and supervised participation in various sectors of the unit, as well as the preparation of leaflets and a video about vaccination. Students worked in reception, triage, observation, wound care, vaccination, pharmacy, dentistry, and medical consultation sectors, which enabled a comprehensive understanding of the multiprofessional functioning of PHC. The educational intervention on influenza vaccination was well received by the unit manager and was widely disseminated to the local Community. Conclusions: The experience demonstrated the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork, health education, and clear communication as transformative tools in healthcare. Practical engagement expanded understanding of SUS, strengthened community bonds, and contributed to combating misinformation.
